The Wizard & Bar BARU

Pros: Excellent location right on the beach, the food was delicious and staff were very kind. Shoutout to Johnny who went above and beyond!

Cons: Nothing at all!

Pros: We had a lovely few days stay at the Wizard, Vladimir and his family are amazing hosts, who are super accommodating and helpful and made our stay so enjoyable :)

Pros: Loved the private room, right on the beach, amazing location Was very clean, had fans, use of loungers

Cons: The breakfast was not very nice Staff didn't really speak to us much, were never given the wifi code or shown where toilets etc were.

Pros: Great location, right on the beach and quiet in the evening. The staff were super friendly and always happy to help. The place was exactly as described and perfect for a couple of days at the beach.

Cons: Just bear in mind there is no running water, but it’s not a problem for a short stay.

I felt like it was my home.

Pros: The way of life, the smiles of the staff, and the view of the beach and Caribbean from my bed.

Cons: Nothing.

Good value for money to be directly on the beach

Pros: Incredible value for money. Friendly staff. Quite fun to stay directly on the beach. Spending time in the hammocks is very relaxing with the breeze.

Cons: The shower could be upgraded. The beach is busy during the day but you need to expect this coming here. It was no problem if you are aware beforehand and can be fun to join in on the music and good vibes around.

MAGIC , breaking place with the friendliest staff

Pros: this place is simple stunning , first of all the hosts , Bladimir and Karol are the loveliest most friendly and wonderful, the cabana are incredible, they have smaller shared bathroom cabana but for not much more you can get the cabana with the bathroom with is HUGE and stylish , they are right on the most sunning beach , the place is lively between 11am and 4pm but absolutely quite and relaxing outside this time . the drinks are delicious , the food simple but tasty . the location couldn't be better , the activities they can. arrange for you are cheaper then most other and so cool . I did the plankton and they arranged a lancia for me from Playa blanca to isola grande for only 50000 COP . they also work with Gulialmo , the loveliest Taxi driver that waited over an hour for me to take me from the airport to the Wizard . The sunset spot is breathtaking !

Cons: the mosquitos ! bring repellent

Beach getaway

Pros: Please read the reviews before coming here so you’re not shocked when staying. The location was excellent and literally on the beach. The beach can get a bit hectic with all the big tours coming in but then it quietens a lot again early morning and in the evenings. They had a few dogs around and they were just the sweetest and definitely kept you entertained. The bar had great drinks and the music was good! Good tours available to see the bioluminescent plankton and the raccoons in the mangrove. I loved chilling by the hammocks. Mosquito nets are also provided

Cons: Ok so I already expected this but there is no running water, you have to use a big bucket of sea water to flush the toilet. The WiFi and power is turned off around 8/9am in the morning and doesn’t return back until around 4pm or so, but it’s a nice way to disconnect. I was a bit worried with the door to my place (it’s basically like a shed) they give you a padlock for the door but it was difficult to open and close and somewhat didn’t feel safe but there are always people around and camera. I just mainly stayed by the beach so it wasn’t much of a problem. There are a lot of vendors trying to sell you stuff constantly but a simple no is enough to get them to go. Breakfast was a bit limited but it was nice :) great lunch!!

Amazing experience

Pros: Amazing hostel just at the beach. Very confortable and perfect to live the island experience. Staff is very kind and helpful. You can do the tours with them with less people and cheaper. Food and drinks at the bar are really tasty and big quantity. Totally recommended.

Cons: Showers are just a bucket with water but it’s part of the experience.

Peaceful and tranqui

Pros: A really good beach house with lovely hosts, good food and an amazing location with hammocks, sun beds and tables and chairs to enjoy. Vladimir and his wife really make the place what it is, the food and drinks at the bar are reasonably priced and tasty (amazing cocktails) and they will also help to organise the plankton tour as well as a 3 in 1 mangrove, snorkelling and fish feeding tour- all reasonably priced. A great place to stay and just relax in the sand and sea.

Cons: Everything was pretty great. A warning that the room, bathing and toilet facilities are simple due to no running water and no electricity before 3pm.
