Pros: Attentive hosts always on hand if need help. Very basic facilities to be expected as it’s an eco hostel on a small island. Not from the centre where there’s restaurants and a supermarket. Also close to la playita for relaxing at

Excellent, wish we could stay longer.

Pros: Jose and his family are lovely and very helpful. Made us feel at home, and provided all the help and information we needed. Very reasonable prices for food.

Pros: Good hotel far away from the turists - It's a walk to the beach, but not very long, so it's a non issue. The owner is very helpful and will assist you with anything!

Cons: No soap

Pros: A super chill spot surrounded by nature, just a short walk from the main village in Orika. Had an amazing time spear fishing with Jose and checking out the glowing plankton at night. Jose and Maria were so friendly and welcoming, and Maria’s food was awesome!

Pros: Friendly staff, family -run company, food it's okay

Cons: The bioluminescence tour looks really overpriced (70k for a ten minute boat ride, no explanation or anything, just swim there and enjoy).. apparently t's the same price all over the island, but you can do it by yourself going to the Laguna encantada and swim there with a pair of goggles. Bathroom facilities (in the familiar room) not so good, no water coming from the sink and it took hours to have water in the toilet.

Had a great time

Pros: I had a wonderful time at Las Flores. Maria y José are wonderful people. I did 3 Tours with José, snorkeling, Mangroves and Plankton. I ate several times diner and everyday breakfast. I really love the lentils from Maria. It was always great. She always asked what I liked and cooked vegetarian meals for me. Oh and the sweet little Flóra, who always laughs and talks. Muchas gracias por todos Maria y José

Cons: Nothing to complain

Pros: A relaxing and quiet location, close to beaches, small shops and cafés. The staff were very friendly and organised excursions for us and cooked delicious, well-priced food.

Cons: The bathroom was not entirely walled off from the bedroom.

fabulous rustic stay in lovely friendly guesthouse

Pros: Set on the edge of a rustic local village on Isla Grande this charming guest house feels like an authentic way to experience the island. The folk who run it are super helpful and laidback - the place has a lot of charm, delightful dogs and a now famous talkative parrot. Breakfast, lunch and dinner available. The nearest little beach is a 3 minute walk - it’s brilliant - so brilliant that both Pablo Escobar and the President chose to build homes on it or opposite it!!! Getting there is simple book a ticket only boat shuttle from Cartagena - advise the hotel of your timings and someone will meet you off the boat - 5 min walk to the hotel. Be advised to take cash - they don’t take cards - no Wi-Fi but phone reception - a great base to explore the island away from lively expensive resorts. Highly recommended.

Cons: none
