Del Mar Guest House

A very good choice if you value space, comfort, and location, and have a local SIM card or data plan

Pros: Excellent location and a surprisingly big, comfortable room with plenty of facilities—really great value for the space and comfort.

Cons: A couple of practical notes: the guest house Wi-Fi did not work during my stay. However, this wasn't a real problem because mobile data works perfectly in the city, so I just used my own hotspot. Also, the staff doesn't speak English, but with a little broken Spanish we managed just fine—it was actually a fun part of the experience.

Nice stay

Pros: Great location looking at the walls and the castle. Easy walk to all the main attractions. . Pool is small, but lovely. Spacious room with lots of room for luggage. Hot water!

Cons: Didn't like the glass doors in shower and toilet. The one in the toilet was very difficult to close. I was unable. I booked a room with a balcony so we could sit out, but there are no chairs. Although it was lovely chilling on the roof. Some tea bags and coffee would be nice.

Very good location

Pros: Perfect location. Very close to Getsemani and Centro Historico, also close to the Castello. Nice bildung with pool on the roof and nice view.

Cons: Loud music at night, but was not a problem for us.

Calm, excellent location, beautiful pool, very effective (much needed) air con

Pros: THe location was fantastic and made it super easy to get into and explore Getsemani. Outside the property there was a baseball game on one day and a football game on another, this provided some entertainment which we really enjoyed. We loved the room, the air con was amazing and it had everything we needed. The pool was sparkling clean as was the inside of the property.

Cons: On Tuesdays-Saturdays there is a venue next door which plays extremely loud music (despite not having one customer). I went and spoke to them and they said that they play it loud to attract more people. This happening from 4-11pm was frustrating as it was so loud and ruined the calm somewhat. Other than that it couldn't have been more perfect.

A lovely stay

Pros: The room was lovely and modern. Having AC and a desk was a real plus. The location is also super convenient and we loved the rooftop pool!

Cons: We got a little lost looking for the property based on the address on booking.com, but had better luck finding it when we searched “Del Mar Guest House” into Google maps.

A hidden gem right in the centre !

Pros: I was blown away!!!!!!! This is the best place I’ve ever stayed. I don’t want people to know about this hidden gem. From how easy checking in was to how beautifully modern and presented the room it was up to a very good standard. I asked them if they can store my luggage and they did from 7:30 am until 5 pm just amazing! I was able to do a tour on my last day. They are very flexible and accommodating and so sweet! you will be treated like a King or Queen here. It is walkable to Getsamani in a great location! — I felt safe as a female solo traveller and felt I could walk the streets at night. I cannot wait to come back here !!!! I would book it in a heart beat !!!!!

Cons: The only thing was there were crumbs next to the bed so paying attention to details when cleaning would be great also a soap was left in the shower and hair from someone previously was there too. It could be been cleaner

Pros: Good place and conditions. I would do it again! A discount for more nights would be nice.

Pros: Big, well decorated rooms, great location and amazing pool area.

Perfect location

Pros: The suite was large, the bed was huge! The apartment was clean and everything worked well. The pool was lovely. We had the pool to ourself nearly ever afternoon. There is a dining area up on the roof with more sun loungers than the ones just by the pool. Perfect location, just around the corner from the main square.

Cons: It's not a negative but If I was to book again I would choose a place on the second floor. Despite the suite being lovely it was on the ground floor, so we felt conscious about having the curtains open. However, There are vines that cover the window at the front to give some privacy.

Pros: Nice Guest House with a good location to discover Cartagena. Comfortable bed and spacious room.

Cons: The water pressure was really low in the shower. So low it was hard to wash my hair properly. When mentioned (through Whatsapp since there is no reception) they said it was standard but the shower at the pool had much more waterpressure. Service and communication to guests could be improved.
