Good place and we’d recommend it to others looking for a good value not too far from the center

Pros: Good cooking and common space, great value overall and the guy (owner/manager?) was very responsive and helpful.

Cons: Bed was a little off, and the room and bathroom were a bit small/restrictive.

Pros: Great spot in a local area within walking distance of the tourist/party areas. From the balcony you can see the daily life of the locals. Pupo has amazing local knowledge and is super friendly and willing to help or accompany you.

Very good value

Pros: Nice room, A/C worked perfectly, loved having the kitchen available (including the fridge) and ample seating space at the kitchen counter - plus a small table next to the window. Our host was outstanding,very friendly, checking in at least once a day with us to make sure everything was all right, and keeping the place nice and clean. Conversation with him was easy, whether sports, the weather, general news, he was always up to date.

Cons: The only negative point was not even with the lodging itself, but the neighbors across the street who managed to keep us awake on 3 different nights with their very very loud music until the wee hours of the morning. Total disregard for anyone in the street... This was, again, not our host's fault but would make me want to make sure with him that there are no celebrations going on if we return to Cartagena at some point in the future. Loved the place but could do without the neighbors :(

Felt right at home at Casa Pupo Hostal

Pros: Super comfy bed with extremely effective AC. Good shower pressure. Fully-equipped kitchen for cooking and plenty of stores within 1-2 blocks. I loved the location in a residential neighborhood, away from the traffic and noise of the touristy areas but with easy access and proximity to them. I felt secure in the hostel, and safe in the neighborhood. The best part of Casa Pupo is the host, Jhon, who made me feel comfortable and at home. He even took the time to introduce me to the local corner scene and a bunch of the neighbors, which was awesome. If you're lucky, he might bust out the karaoke machine - he has an amazing singing voice! Overall, a great value and an excellent experience. I'll definitely stay there if I ever get back to CTG.. and hopefully get in on one of the tourist packages he offers at a lower rate than the local agencies with super convenient pick-up / drop-off at the end of the block.

Cons: The pillows aren't great, and it would be nice if there was a chair in the room... I ended up commandeering one from the common area.

A great stay in a clean, comfortable apartment with a lovely host

Pros: Everything was as pictured. The apartment is well equipped, spotlessly clean, comfortable and the air conditioning in the bedrooms is very efficient. The location is a short taxi ride from the airport and the fantastic central districts of Centro and Getsemani. I had complete privacy but the host lives very close to the property so is always on hand if required. He is really nice and went out of his way to help me with booking tours and giving advice on things like safety and local amenities. There were no guests arriving on the day I left so he very kindly let me check out late.

Cons: Although my experience was overwhelmingly positive, the noise from the street was very loud from about 6.30am. The area seemed safe during the day, but at night, as is the case in many parts of the city, it's probably wisest to get taxis to and from your door after dark just in case. Local taxi apps such as InDrive make this really quick, easy and cheap.

A good place to stay in Cartagena.

Pros: The location is good, not far from the beach. The host was really nice.

Cons: Nothing really, but there is a restaurant or bar close by that played loud music until 4 in the morning once or twice a week.

Pros: La disponibilidad de la cocina. Los almacenes quedan muy cerca.

Cons: Hay que tener precaución en la noche por el sector.

Pros: Jhon, es una persona bastante agradable, nos mostró Cartagena en un recorrido a pie la primera noche que llegamos.

Cons: Bueno, lo único fue que la última habitación era demasiado, demasiado sencilla, más no conocí las otras dos. La zona, un poco solitaria después de ciertas horas, Pero bueno, de resto todo bien.

Buen sitio. Muy buena relación calidad precio

Pros: Bien ubicado, cuenta con cocina y sala. Sitio acogedor. El propietario muy amable.
