Fragata Island House

A very special place.

Pros: We loved our stay at Fragata Island House, the setting is beautiful and we enjoyed the relaxed hospitality. The staff were excellent and we loved our trip to see the bioluminescent plankton! We would love to come back.

Cons: We would have liked some more food variety, maybe some more healthy options.

Nice stay

Pros: Lovely location where you can watch the pelicans and fragatas all day. Room was nice, but could do with a refresh. Lovely sheltered balcony. Food was nice and pina colada delicious!

Cons: Whilst food was nice I was a bit bored of menu after 2 nights. Breakfast comes with ingredients not listed on the menu fir example peppers and onions in omelette. . Apart from the beer drinks are pricey! Would be nice to be able to eat a bit later and if there were better vibes in the evening. Definitely book a room with a balcony where you can chill in the evening when everything is closed. Management definitely prioritise the day visitors over the guests staying at hotel.

Pros: Location / seafront / good menu / kindness of the staff

Cons: Nothing! If there’s anything i’d improve is to add some tap water in the rooms. At least for the arrival.

Exceeded expectations

Pros: Excellent staff and service, special thanks to Felipe and Juan Pablo. Very clean, awesome room, great food and drinks.

Pros: I really liked this hotel! The staff was very friendly and kind. I had a room with a sea view, and there were masks in the room for snorkeling. The food and drinks were very tasty, but the prices are more European.

Cons: The only downside is that very few staff members speak ans understand English.

Wind down on Colombia

Pros: We loved this getaway from busy, loud and hustling Cartagena. Only few day tourist make it to the Island resort every day for limited time, so privacy is given and you get to fully wind down. Food and service is excellent, amazing staff, nice facilities and wonderful underwater scenery just at your footstep, the standup paddles and snorkeling masks provided were a real gem. We also did a 3 hour island tour, visiting several snorkeling spots and a small beach, which was excellent. Since we left early morning, we beat the boat crowds coming from Cartagena and Baru. Definitely recommended!

Cons: Food and drinks are a little pricy but understandable due to the resorts' location. Also direct transportation is not flexible (time wise), which needs some organization.

Relaxing

Pros: We loved the peace and quiet. We stayed just one night but for us that was sufficient as there's nowhere to go. Free use of paddle boards and snorkeling masks. For an extra cost you can go on a snorkeling trip (the snorkeling in front of the hotel is not that exciting) or be taken to a dolphin centre, I think. Our room was exactly as we'd hoped, with a view out onto the water. Super big bed, friendly staff (Bertha and Carlos).

Cons: Don't expect hot water in the shower but that wasn't a problem for us.

Beautiful and tranquil!

Pros: We really enjoyed our stay at Fragata Island House - the hotel/island was very nice, tranquil, quiet and the sunsets were breathtaking! The staff, food, and activities were very good too; very good value for money. Would definitely return!

An unforgettable stay — amazing service, fresh food and stunning setting

Pros: I recently stayed at Fragata Island House and had an absolutely wonderful experience. I had read some older reviews mentioning that the service wasn’t great, but it seems they now have a new team of waiters who are enthusiastic, attentive, and truly professional — a total game changer! The rooms were spotless and beautifully maintained, the beach in front of the hotel is gorgeous, and the food was excellent — super fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. I also booked a romantic dinner at sunset arranged by the Fragata team — it was magical, easily one of the most special experiences I’ve ever had while traveling. Everything about this place exceeded my expectations. Highly, highly recommended

Amazing peaceful getaway

Pros: The property was great - the rooms were spacious and clean. There was two sections where you could sit and relax in the sun and in the shade. Lots of activities like paddle boarding and snorkeling any time during the stay. Food and drinks were great as well
