Pros: The location is great as you are just outside the busy part of the city, but only a few minutes walk from the action. There's plenty of bars and shops in the immediate streets around too. Despite this, there is very little noise in the rooms. The AC in the room was very good and I enjoyed sitting on the terrace too as it has a nice vibe and you can people watch.
Cons: The rooms are very basic, but functional. If you just want a cheap place to stay and just need a bed and bathroom then this is a good choice. Don't expect any luxury if you're in a standard room. The bed is comfortable enough but the room is essentially a small concrete box. The bathroom needs a makeover, but it is clean and everything worked. It would be nice if this hostal could do a deal with one of the cafes/bars below it to include or at least negotiate a discount for breakfast as some of them are pretty good.

Pros: Great location. Everything is near. The hotel has wonderful staff! Very helpful and friendly. If you like Cartagena nightlife, that's the spot to be.
Cons: This is not your hotel if you want to sleep at night as it can get noisy.

Charming stay, great location, historic building.
Pros: A charming place to stay, full of character, with views over Parque Centenario. Excellent location. The staff are hospitable, friendly, and helpful. Rooms are basic, but clean and comfortable. You can sit on the balcony, enjoy the views of the neighborhood street life while sipping a coffee or a cold drink (the fridge in the lobby is well stocked), or if you prefer, close the wooden shutters and switch on the air-conditioning. The historic old city is only a short stroll of a couple of minutes through the park. Get up early to beat the heat. Also, you are just a couple of minutes away from numerous great eateries both on Calle 30 or Carrera 10. Better still, follow the side street next to the hotel, Calle de la Sierpe, which winds its way to Plaza de la Trinidad and the vibrant district of Getsemani. Don't miss it! If you're traveling to the islands, the boat jetties are only a 15-minute walk away.
Cons: Cartagena is alive with music and city sounds which is great!.However, if you are sensitive to noise, bring earplugs (they may have them at reception). That said, the beds are comfortable and you'll sleep well.

Central location, get a room with balcony!
Pros: Room was spacious, the balcony with the neighbours flowers was lovely. The location was great, the building was an interesting relic.
Cons: It had an odd vibe. No smiles from staff.

Staff is very kind and helpful whatever you need.
Pros: Very good position, 2 minutes walking from the main entrance to the old town and in the vibrant neighborhood of Gatsemi. Of course for the position central to the historic town and to the crazy night life of Cartagena forget a super silent night. Still… it worths
Cons: Bit noisy… see before

Felt like going back in time (in a good way)
Pros: The location of the hostel is perfect, right in the heart of Getsemani, facing the Parque Centenario. I (solo traveller) got one of the cheapest rooms, so I wasn't expecting amenities. My room was very small and super simple: no windows, no air conditioning (just a fan), and no warm water in the bathroom. To me it was just perfect. Maybe I would have liked a window, but I loved it nonetheless, and the whole vibe of the hostel. It felt like going back in time.
