Hostal Casa en la Ciénaga Rincon del Mar

Pros: This was my third time visiting Rincon del mar. Usually I stay at Dos Aguas, but due to a fire last year that unfortunately wasnt possible this time. So booked at Casa en la Cienaga instead. I would say it's good value. A private room wasn't too expensive at all. Good location by the end of the road, and good service from the staff.

Cons: Some things that could be added to the room to improve the experience: A bedside lamp, more space to hang wet clothes, maybe hangers on the terrace. The fan in the room was good, but would prefer if it was positioned right above the bed. Also, the bed was a bit hard for my taste.

Beautiful hostel

Pros: Beautiful hostel in a beautiful location. I booked one of the private rooms and I think the price and location were unbeatable. The common areas at this hostel overlooking the lagoon makes it the most perfect and magical spot in rincón. Bed was super comfy and all very clean.

Cons: My only issue to an otherwise perfect stay- the rooms aren’t very well soundproofed (particularly the downstairs private rooms) as the interior walls between the two rooms stops about a foot short from the ceiling. On my last night I had someone check in next door to me who was very loud and disrespectful and while they are not the hostels fault, it was like they were in the room with me!

A nice quiet stay!

Pros: The staff and the hostel were really lovely. It’s a nice and quiet spot too.

Cons: The mattress was pretty hard, but we heard similar about lots of hostels in the area. Also note they don’t serve food at the hostel, but there’s lots of options nearby.

Pros: We loved our stay here. The private room was comfy and spacious and the upstairs kitchen/balcony/chill out area has an amazing view of the water and mangroves. Great location on the road next to restaurants and a quick walk to the beach.

Peaceful and quiet

Pros: We loved our stay! The room had an awesome view out over the mangroves, a private seating area, and was really peaceful and calm. The bed was great and the room was tidy. Really close to everything and a short walk to the beach.

Cons: Not much really - the proximity to the mangroves means some critters come into the room every now and then but they were quick to show themselves out

Great place

Pros: Lovely, friendly place a bit away from the beach noise. Overlooking the mangrove swamp.

Cons: The outdoor terraces are very nice, but could be equipped with more comfortable furniture, i.e cushions on the benches and seats. A few little things like drying towels in the kitchen, no smoking anywhere would go a long way to make this place even better.

Relaxing place with beach 100 meters away

Pros: quieter location than the beach, pleasant common spaces. Very attentive and helpful staff

Cons: low water pressure in the bathroom

Well worth it.

Pros: Although it’s not beachfront it is less than a minute away. Quieter at night than being close to the beach. No air con but efficient fans.

Cons: The lake was beautiful, but it comes at a price of a swampy smell.

Pros: Really nice hostel! -Staff is super kind and available. They go far and beyond showing you where things you need are (whether it's insect repellent or laundry services). The owners are incredibly kind and very pleasant people with a nice vibra. Staff and owners also put together a qr code with all activities available in the area as well as restaurants. You have the impression you're cared for. -well priced -very aesthetic with lots of plants and places to chill over the beautiful lagoon where you can see the sunrise -kitchen is equipped -beds have mosquito nets and are repellant sprayed daily, there's a big fan as well as singular fans on the bed. Wifi works everywhere, there are multiple desk stations for working -one minute from the beach and the main street -nice atmosphere :)

Cons: nothing! Was supposed to stay one night stayed 6.

Pros: Very friendly helpful staff, great location and totally adequate private room 😊 would recommend
