República Hostel Cartagena

Pros: The hostel has a good location within the walled city and big number of showers and bathrooms - there ones both in the dorm room and outside. The bed is big and quite comfy

Cons: I don´t think the price necessarily corresponds with the value you get. I always had some kind of problems - from the room key never working to misunderstandings with breakfast that I prepaid. I would also suggest staff member for promoting the events that are advertised but never really happening. The storage room gets extremely crowded (and I had to pay for it to leave my bag there for 1night) + I had to wait till the exact check-in time (so just bear that in mind not to expect early check-in).

Okay hostel in Cartagena

I always had some kind of problems - from the room key never working to misunderstandings with breakfast that I prepaid. I would also suggest staff member for promoting the events that are advertised but never really happening.

A great value hostel

Pros: The hostel is in a fantastic location with shops less than 5 minute walk and great cafes, bars and restaurants nearby. There was always something on in the evening too. We loved that the rooms had air conditioning and each bed had its own fan. The showers had cold water which was needed during the heat. The pool was clean and the kitchen was clean & never too busy.

Cons: There weren’t sun-beds by the pool and the storage unit for the luggage was a bit too small and luggage was piled on top of each-other making it difficult to get yours when you needed to.

Pros: Perfect location, nice common area, very quiet at night and the beds are private

Good stay, close to major attractions!

Pros: Good location and beds were separated by concrete so even though you are top bed you would not disturb others below!

Cons: There were mosquitos but I guess that isn’t really a property fault just saying so that you are prepared.

Great location and breakfast

Pros: The location is great, the breakfast was good and it was a plus that it had a swimming pool.

Cons: The whole hostel is a bit run down - it is not very clean, I had a bathroom and toilet in the room and it had a problem on my last night and there was a leaking from the ceiling.

Pros: Good breakfast, location, and common spaces. Nice cabin beds.

Pros: Great location, pool, bar, comfortable bed, daily events

Pros: Great location in the walled city for a fair price. Always a good way to meet other travelers.

Cons: Do not forget to bring your own towels. Service provided was minimal but was expected from the affordability of the lodging.

Pros: Really good location right in the center and walkable from everything. The staff were nice, especially Jonathan on reception
