Hotel Isla Mucura

Beautiful hotel with great staff, some details to improve.

Pros: The staff, specially in the restaurant! They look passionate about their job And very helpful. They show they know what to do and how well trained they are. My compliments to all the staff. The food was great!

Cons: We took a trip to see the fitoplancton but we were taken to the town to board the boat. The site is really a mess, with lots of rubbish all over and smelly. Perhaps The hotel should lead a campaign to help the locals in keeping this place clean. *the piñas coladas are way way too expensive. More than a main course dish in the restaurant!!

Pros: The place is absolutely magic. The most wonderful experience was the fitoplancton tour. The rooms are beautifully set and very comfortable and the whole premises are amazing.

Great hotel in an amazing island!

Pros: We got the pool villa and it was as really nice, comfortable and clean! The location is amazing and the staff was great!

A corner of paradise

Pros: Great attention to detail from the very first moment you step into the complex. The facilities are excellent, and you could easily spend several days here without ever getting bored — there are so many activities, some organised by the hotel and others you can enjoy independently. We have stayed in other hotels in the area of a similar standard, but nothing has matched the experience at Isla Múcura. The presence of beautiful animals — iguanas, parrots and peacocks roaming freely around the island — makes the stay even more special. I only wish we had stayed for more than two nights.

Relaxing island stay with great entertainment options

Pros: We loved: - Bungalows in front of the sea - Animal wildlife to explore - Palmtree heaven - Social activities and information about everything via whatsapp - great location on the island - staff: very special thanks to Victor, Pablo, Lucia, Jesus and Luisa. You really made the difference and gave us a feeling of being so welcome, you made our holiday experience beautiful!!

Cons: - some others of the staff did not seem very friendly, at times we even avoided asking for important information from them because they seemed annoyed by any guest contact - mosquito nets would be highly appreciated against bites and the results of geckos living in the roof ;) - we caught a bad stomach bug and had another medical incident at the end of our stay- be aware that there are no medical services at the island, so make sure you bring any medicine you might need

Great place to relax and unwind….

Pros: This place is very special. The staff were so helpful prior to coming helping me organise transport and when we were at the hotel. Staff are all very kind and helpful (thanks Linda). The location its self is stunning- you feel almost at peace as soon as you get of the boat. The resort is set in beautiful well maintained gardens. The rooms are spotless, cleaned daily, they have everything you need, great AC and loved the outdoor shower. Felt very safe and secure. Really recommend this place!

Cons: If I was being particular- breakfast could be a little clearer in terms of costs. As we didn’t have the hot option and seemed a lot to pay for cereal and toast. Other than this the food was generally good and they tried hard- was slightly worried reading the reviews about the food but it’s fine.

Pros: Very friendly employees, great garden ,room was big and comfy

Cons: No hot water is okay but a hairdryer is something the hotel could have especially when we cannot bring a lot of stuff

Beach front paradise

Pros: The Bunglaow Deluxe 16 with direct sea view (not all sea view bungalows have direct sea view). Really nice staff Perfect for 3-4 days It was our highlight in Colombia

Cons: The Restaurant was ok but didn’t really like the breakfast (only sweet bread). There’s no other restaurant around so you have to eat there every day, but that’s because it’s an island.

Wonderful

Pros: It's on a wonderful island with a beautiful beach where you can really relax. The bungalow we were in was perfect, with a view of the sea and the sunset every night. The personnel was really friendly and helpful. There were some nice activities as well, and they had live music every evening in the restaurant (this is not always the case I was told.) The food was nice, I read some bad comments about it, but we appreciated it. The boat trip from Cartagena and back was amazing.

Cons: One day they were mowing the grass with a noisy machine, but I guess they have to do it sometimes. There was a bright light on the air-conditioning machine, this was a bit annoying when you like to sleep in the dark.
