Holiday Inn Express - Cartagena Bocagrande by IHG

I enjoyed my stay at Holidays Inn especially thanks to the great staff and position.

Pros: I really liked the staff working at the hotel. They did their best to meet my needs, they were all nice and professional.

Excellent choice to a spotless clean hotel with beautiful facilities and a great loaction!

Cons: Not much to say here. The only issue was that the shower leaked to the outside quite a lot

Pros: The staff were very accommodating, the facilities were well kept, the pool was very comfortable. Comfortable bed, black out curtains, the room had lots of space. Great location, plenty of restaurants around, close to the beach and 10 min drive to centro. Typical holiday inn experience.

Cons: The water pressure in the shower was so so. The breakfast was just ok.

Great stay but they need to increase the breakfast area to accomodate everyone

Pros: The rooms were large with all the required facilities in it. The pool on the rooftop was also lovely. They give you beach towels also. It is near lots of restaurants and beach. Very near the walled city also by taxi.

Cons: Breakfast was in 2 different places....they had more variety of food downstairs but it was always full. There was no toaster and things kept getting finished in the upstairs breakfast area.

Pros: Great welcome at reception, good location - restaurants, shops and beach within easy reach, and walkable to old city, although that won't be for everyone. Good breakfast..

Cons: Shower (only too hot water), Elevator (slow and busy), TV without streaming

Pros: The hotel is in a perfect location in Bocagrande, in a walking distance to numerous restaurants ans shops as well as 10 minutes away from the historic city center. The hotel is clean, I especially loved the fresh smell of the towels in the bathroom. Breakfast was not the best, not so many options but an inclusive breakfast is itself is a luxury in Cartagena. Hotel team were friendly and attentive.

Cons: When we arrived at the hotel at around 12.45, we started with the check-in process and we were about to get our key to the room, the receptionist told us that the check-in hour was 16.00 and that there were no rooms available at that moment. The reason why I chose this Hotel is because it’s not a boutique hotel with few rooms, therefore there should be some rooms available for some early comer customers. And our stay in Cartagena would only be a weekend stay so every hour counts and I didn’t want to wait for another 3 hours to get my room. However we were told that we could use the general bathroom to change if we wanted to start exploring the city immediately. Finally we did that and when we came backt to the reception to leave our luggage with the concierge, we were told that our room was ready. In short, the hotel either should revise it’s check-in hours or apply a policy of not rejecting customers’ request for a room immediately when there are available rooms. Having an argument just at the beginning of a stay ruins some initial hours of the day. I thank the nice receptionist anyway for finding a solution for our “early” check-in.

Pros: The location of the hotel was excellent. Walking distance to the beach. Many restaurants close by.Easy access to the city centre using a taxi,Uber, or walking. My room was very comfortable and quiet. The pool area was very relaxing. I was very happy with my stay here.
