A very highly recommended small and quiet hidden gem in possibly the best part of Cartagena with great staff.

Pros: Centrally situated in Casco Viejo, easy to walk to all places of interest. Beautiful and sympathetic renovation and very clean. Fewer rooms than would be expected for the facilities offered. Lovely rooftop pool and bar, internal glass lift in atrium, separate indoor/outdoor dining room to first floor. Classy cafe to the street and luxuriously planted seating area in the open atrium area. Though in the centre of town and tourist area there was almost no noise at night (our experience in ground floor room). Best of all were the very kind, attentive and obliging staff, without exception. Special mention for Jose on reception, who had the advantage of speaking English so was able to converse with us

Cons: The only issue was the lack of windows in the ground floor rooms, but that is part of the fabric of the old place. Inside the room was amazing but on entry we detected what smelt like mould (like in an old cellar). Maybe the room had not been occupied for a few days. We kept the extraction fan on in the bathroom to try to eliminate it. It was not overwhelming but I have a particular sensitivity to particulates. It did seem to improve during our stay.

Fantastic boutique hotel conveniently located in the old town

Pros: It's a boutique hotel inside the walled town. It was very close to all the Hay Festival venues we were attending. The restoration of the old colonial building is superb and beautiful. The staff are very friendly and happy to help. Yoselin at the restaurant was very eager to help us and explained the dishes well. The top-floor pool is small but a good size for the kind of building. The interior was very quiet, despite being in the middle of a busy part of a holiday town. The restaurant food was good. Great experience overall.

Cons: Small details which would have helped to make it perfect, we missed: conveniently located power source at the bedside - including a uUSB port (although they lent us one at the reception), shower caps, coffee pods being replaced daily

Great stay thanks to the excellent and helpful staff.

Pros: Very helpful and friendly staff. The first night we were in a somewhat noisy room on the groundfloor but they did everything they could to move us for the remaining nights. Thanks a lot. The rooms are spacious and well-equipped. Good breakfast, again with a friendly service. The location is excellent - right in heart of the historic centre of Cartagena.

Cons: Rooms on the groundfloor can be a bit noisy.

Pros: Beautiful rooms. Very comfortable. It’s right in the centre next to many restaurants and shops. The breakfast and the bar staff is very friendly and attentive.

Cons: Nothing to complain about. The reception desk girls could be friendlier. The only bad thing is I was charged for a drink from the mini bar which we did not take. In spite of telling the girl at the reception, we had to pay for it. After spending so much in this place why would we not accept one drink charge at the mini bar if we had indeed used it!

Lovely clean quiet hotel with nice staff, although perhaps a little overpriced

Pros: I had a spacious room with a very comfortable bed. Everything was very clean. I had told them in advance I was vegan so there was almond milk option at breakfast. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The hotel is nicely decorated and right in the centre of the historic district but it’s also very quiet which is nice. It felt safe and secure.

Cons: The hotel prices itself in the higher bracket so (to judge accordingly) I think it’s cheeky to ask guests to pay extra for espresso coffee at breakfast, and also to limit them to one option from the menu (although to be fair, the oatmeal came with fruit and toast so was enough). There was also a problem with the wifi which meant they didn’t get my room service order on the first night and I went hungry (although the staff were very apologetic)
